Job Title: 

Sharon has been an Instructor at North Island College for the past 9 years. She has been involved in recruitment, training, curriculum development and program delivery for 10 cohorts of the Underground Mining Training Program at the College.  She also teaches employability skills in Trades. She works closely with stakeholders that include business and aboriginal groups to deliver relevant training which meets labour market and industry requirements.

She has a passion for teaching and helping her students excel in the areas of communications, team building, employability skills, marketing and essential skills.

Prior to teaching, her background as a Specialized Markets Sales Executive for 10 years with Quinsam Coal/Hillsborough Resources allowed her the opportunity to learn about the Mining Industry. She also spent 7 years working for the City of Campbell River in Economic Development. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing and Certificates in Public Relations and Economic Development. She recently completed her Provincial Instructor Diploma program. Sharon currently sits on the Board of the BC Lung Association.
